The risk: The pressure-cooking lid can be opened during use, causing hot contents to escape, posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers.
Incidents/injuries: SharkNinja has received 106 reports of burn injuries, including more than 50 reports of second- or third-degree burns to the face or body.
Where and when sold: Amazon, Costco, Sam’s Club, Target, and Walmart stores nationwide, and online at Amazon, costco.com, ninjakitchen.com, samsclub.com, target.com, and walmart.com, from January 2019 to March 2025 for about $200.
The remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the product’s pressure-cooking function and contact SharkNinja (contact details below) for a free replacement lid. Until the replacement lid arrives, consumers should discard the original pressure cooker lid and refrain from using the pressure-cooking function, SharkNinja says. However, consumers can continue to use the product’s air-frying and other functions.
