The problem: A software problem may cause a short-circuit that could prevent a backup camera from displaying an image. If this happens, the vehicle will not meet federal motor vehicle safety standards.
The fix: Software releases 2024.44.25.3, 2024.45.25.6, and later addressed the problem, according to Tesla. But the automaker says if a vehicle already experienced a short-circuit or “stress” that could lead to a short-circuit prior to the software update, it will need its car computer replaced.
How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may call Tesla at 877-798-3752.
