Main theme: The panelists discuss their experiences with the redesigned 2026 Nissan Leaf, which shares a design with the now discontinued Nissan Ariya. The Leaf has similar external dimensions to the second-generation model it replaces, but passenger room and cargo space have been improved, and driving range has been significantly improved. The Leaf can drive between 259 and 303 miles on a single charge, depending on the version, compared with just 149 to 212 miles for the previous version. But are those improvements enough to keep it competitive?
Second segment: Senior autos reporter (and podcast member) Keith Barry talks about Consumer Reports’ recent work on car insurance.
Audience question: Does adaptive cruise control work in foggy conditions, and is it safe to use it when driving in fog?
