Kia Niros Are Recalled to Fix Airbag and Seat Belt Problems

Vehicles recalled: 2023-2025 Kia Niro EVs, PHEVs, and hybrid vehicles with manual passenger seats.

The problem: The adjustment of the manual passenger seat may damage wiring on the vehicle floor, which could cause front airbags or seat belts not to work properly in a crash or may cause side curtain airbags to deploy unexpectedly.

The fix: Kia dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the faulty wiring. In all cases, dealerships will install protective covering to keep the wiring from being damaged. These repairs are free of charge.
